Kid's Christmas Party

The St. Mikes Annual Christmas party will take place on Sunday December 7th at the Emerald Isle Seniors Centre (Danforth Ave @ Greenwood). The party will start at 2pm and run until around 7pm. There will be a buffet and cash bar.
 
We are calling on your generosity to help with donations of food, presents or just general help with organization in the lead up to the party.  If you think you can help in anyway please send us an email and let us know.*

For those of you with children/grandchildren get your thinking caps on for ideas of what your child may like for a present.  You can either email back or one of the committee members will be in contact with you.
 
We look forward to seeing you all there and making it as good a day as last year.

Golf Tournament

On October 5th, St. Mikes will be holding a small golf tournament at Hornby Glen Golf Course. The cost is $80 which includes your cart, green fee, longest drive, and closest to the pin. Baby Mackers has Arrived

On Tuesday September 16 at 9:15am, Sinead McElvanna finally gave birth to a baby girl. Weighing in at 8 lb 7 oz, Eimear McElvanna figures to play at corner forward for the 2023 St. Mikes ladies team. Congratulations to Paul and Sinead.

Passing of a Friend

Frank Smyth (pictured left with wife Eileen) passed away peacefully on Sunday, September 14, 2008 at the age of 68, with his family by his side. Beloved husband of Eileen. Much loved father of Brendan and his wife Kate, Patricia and Catherine. Survived by brothers Bill and Gene of the United States, Danny of Ireland and sister Anne, also of Ireland. He will be fondly remembered by his extended family and friends. Frank was a well known member of the Irish community in Toronto and was a long time member of the St. Michael's Hurling and Football Club. Friends may call at the Turner & Porter Butler Chapel, 4933 Dundas St. W. (between Kipling and Islington Aves.) on Friday from 2-4 p.m. and 7-9 p.m. The Funeral Mass will be held at Nativity of Our Lord Roman Catholic Church, 480 Rathburn Road, on Saturday, September 20, 2008 at 10 o'clock. Interment Assumption Cemetery.

Frank played for St. Mikes for many years and was a great member of the club. Deepest sympathies from the club go to his family and friends.
