Congratulations to Sinéad Fitzsimons who was selected for the Down Senior Ladies panel!

Born and raised in Toronto, Sinéad Fitzsimons took up Gaelic football with St. Mike’s in her teens shortly after the formation of the ladies team and played a pivotal role in those early years. After moving to Belgium in 2009, Sinéad joined the Brussels Craobh Rua GAA club where she helped the club to six consecutive European Championships during her tenure there. Since moving to Belfast in 2015 to complete her PhD at Queen’s University, she has been playing football with Queen’s GAA and East Belfast club Bredagh GAC with who she won the Down Senior Ladies Championship in 2016. With her father Eamonn hailing from Killard, Co. Down there is no doubt an enormous sense of pride for Sinéad to be representing the Mounre County.

We are so proud of you Sinéad and we wish you and the Down Ladies the very best of luck in their upcoming season from everyone at St. Mike’s!
